Minors firearms License

In Canada, minors between the ages of 12 and 17 can apply for a Minor's Firearms Licence to possess non-restricted firearms for hunting, target practice, or instruction, but they cannot own or acquire firearms. To get this licence, they must complete the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) and pass the required tests. The Minor's Licence expires on their 18th birthday, and they should apply for an adult Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) six months before this date to avoid any gap in their ability to possess firearms.

If you are a parent or guardian of a minor wishing to take Canadian Firearms Safety Course please download and fill out the minors consent form and present the form to the instructor before the beginning of the course.
